Two Very Special People
Happy Mother's Day to two of the most precious gifts in our lives!!

Getting it out after long time, no blog.
Two weeks ago I began writing this post, but never finished it...
So now I'm going on three weeks of some sort of heinous viral/bacterial/irritating/discouraging /hazardofthejob. Been through the sore throat, aches, completely stopped up, now going through the slightly stopped up, runny nose, coughupalung, ear congested portion of this bump in the road. I don't feel like it is a bump in the road. I feel like it's one of those huge speed humps that feel like your entire car is suspended while you drive over it. I'm tired of feeling tired. Tired of worrying about medicine allergies. Tired of missing Spring Break fun. Tired and so sad... I know, oh I know there is so much worse than this. In my confinement I've been reading of the precious Needham family who just lost their baby girl to a long battle with leukemia, or Vicky whose been battling stage 3 breast cancer for over a year. I tell myself remember these. Remember these and so many others.
Part of every misery is, so to speak, the misery's shadow or reflection: the fact that you don't merely suffer but have to keep on thinking about the fact that you suffer.

I'm here. About six weeks sickish. Feeling better and in a better place. Thankful. Still coughing some. Still sniffling and sneezing some. Still wanting to be well. But thankful. Thankful for redirection. Thankful for drawing closer to Him again. Not close enough, but closer. Thankful for the ability to lean on His arms. Thankful for a new doctor with encouraging words. Thankful for hope.

Coconut It Up!
The hubs and I just got home from a special date night {which is another post for another time due to my heavy lids}! Quickly though, I wanted to share what I enjoyed in the car today.
SO YUMMY!! I l-o-v-e-d the hint of coconut flavor and the fact that it's sweetened with Stevia. You've gotta try it soon. I know I'll be coming back for more!

50 years later
Tonight I edited this photo of our wedding day, October 9, 2010. We were on our way to our "getaway car" after being showered with beautiful rose petals.
Honey B. reminded me of this photo of my parents on their wedding day, December 19, 1960. They were heading into the parsonage for their wedding ceremony.
50 years later. 50 years ago. Walking hand in hand with our futures ahead of us. One couple just married, the other minutes from that special event. All four people brimming with excitement and thanksgiving for the love they share. What a legacy to leave for our children. A solid, loving marriage that we can look back upon with joy in another 50 years.
